Our innovative BOMBARDIER ECO4 portfolio, based on the four cornerstones of energy, efficiency, economy and ecology, is helping our customers to reduce costs and emissions through overall energy savings of up to 50 per cent.

Uniquely balancing the four "E"-cornerstones of sustainable mobility, Energy, Efficiency, Economy and Ecology, ECO4 products have convinced train operators around the world. ECO4 technologies are incorporated in our latest rail projects, like the BOMBARDIER OMNEO and BOMBARDIER TWINDEXX double-deck trains, the BOMBARDIER ZEFIRO 380 very high speed trains or even ALP-45 Dual Power locomotives. Today, a total of fifteen ECO4 products are leading to a new era in rail technology with unparalleled reductions in costs and emissions.

At InnoTrans 2010, three new breakthrough technologies will be presented:

• EcoSilent Optimised Train Sound, a tool for acoustic design to make trains one of the quietest ways to travel
• EnerGstor Wayside Energy Storage, system based on supercapacitor technology, which stores potentially wasted braking energy and recycles it back into the system when nearby trains need to draw power
• EcoEfficient Optimised environmental performance, a combination of tools and techniques to analyse the environmental performance of products throughout their lifecycle, minimizing waste and use of hazardous materials from design of our vehicles through to their end of life decommissioning
