ZEFIRO 380 very high speed train A new sense of speed
The ZEFIRO 380 train shows the way to the future of rail transport and technology. In the outdoor area of Bombardier's stand, the first full-scale mock up of the cab-car vehicle with 3D interior displays will be shown, giving visitors at InnoTrans a chance to fully experience the endless possibilities for interior arrangements. The ZEFIRO platform has witnessed great success already with the ZEFIRO 250 trains that are in reliable service since 2009 and the ZEFIRO 380 already being ordered by the Chinese Ministry of Railways worth over 1 billion euro. The V300ZEFIRO, which can reach speeds of up to 360 km/h is also selected by Trenitalia as a preferred solution for Italy.
Bombardier recognised that factors such as capacity, cost-efficiency, flexibility, comfort and ecological sensitivity are important goals. The ZEFIRO product platform is the result of Bombardier's global experience in the (very) high speed sector, spanning over two decades and including more than 850 of the world's (very) high speed trains. The ZEFIRO 380 is destined to be one of the world's fastest, most economical, most eco-friendly VHS trains in commercial operation, with the highest capacity of any existing VHS train. Accommodating a speed performance ranging from 250-380 km/h, its highly flexible basis can be adapted to market needs, which is essential for today's increasingly complex rail operations.

The new OMNEO product platform designed for transparency and comfort
OMNEO, Bombardier's latest generation of double-deck EMU's, has been developed for the regional transport in France. This new train features very high levels of capacity, comfort, accessibility and transparency. These articulated electrical multiple units are wide-bodied, and alternate single-deck and double-deck cars, while keeping the same train height. This innovative architecture creates an open and continuous living space, paced by specific areas, that allow everyone to find the serenity, conviviality and services they expect.
MITRAC Permanent Magnet Motor
The OMNEO trains will be equipped with MITRAC Permanent Magnet Motors. This technology enables:
- Improved overall vehicle optimization
- Optimized energy efficiency
- Reduced volume and weight
The use of this technology, combined with efficient reductors, allows for 6% energy consumption savings.

FLEXX Eco bogie Defying convention
Discover how our BOMBARDIER FLEXX Eco bogie addresses the challenges of changing market requirements towards reducing track damage and maintenance costs and minimizing weight.
The FLEXX Eco bogie has been developed to satisfy these demanding pre-requisites. The success of the design depended on a fundamental rethink of conventional bogie layout while retaining and improving on the overall safety and performance that is expected from a modern bogie design. The overall design simplicity combined with the inboard bearing wheelset concept is fundamental to the success of the bogie. This has resulted in a compact, lightweight but robust bogie design and significant operational benefits, such as reduced energy consumption, noise emission and reduced track damage.

Driver training simulator for ERTMS ATP onboard technology
Testing a train on a line which is not built yet is something operators could not imagine in the past. However this has now become a reality with the new driver simulator exhibited at our stand. The demo units simulate the ERTMS functionality of our BOMBARDIER EBI Cab 2000 onboard system and 'drive' a train using only drawings and line data. Furthermore, the simulator can assist with training the driver under different scenarios with the real behaviour of the Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system.

PRIMOVE catenary-free system World premier application
Bombardier Transportation and the Augsburg Transport Authority (Stadtwerke Augsburg Verkehrs GmbH) have just signed a cooperation agreement to install the contactless and catenary-free BOMBARDIER PRIMOVE system for trams as a pilot project in the city of Augsburg.
The PRIMOVE catenary-free system is a highly innovative contactless power transfer technology for urban rail vehicles. By dispensing with the need for overhead catenary, the PRIMOVE system will open up new opportunities for urban planners in the design of integrated transportation systems for cities.
Among the advantages of the PRIMOVE catenary-free system are the completely hidden power supply, the irrelevance of weather and ground conditions as well as the easy installation. In addition, the contactless and very safe energy transfer system reduces wear on parts, limiting equipment lifecycle costs. When combined with the new MITRAC Energy Saver technology, the PRIMOVE system can also reduce energy consumption significantly.

INTERFLO 450 ERTMS Level 2 High speed signalling at 350 km/h for China's Wuhan-Guangzhou line
At InnoTrans 2010, you can gain an in-depth understanding regarding the most rigorous application of ERTMS Level 2 technology, in terms of both track length and train speed. There will be a demonstration of this application using BOMBARDIER INTERFLO 450 technology located at the indoor booth. Visitors will learn about the advantages of the solution which significantly increase line speeds and capacity, thus helping operators meet the needs of ever increasing passenger numbers and dramatically cutting journey times.
